Write Ups

Florida @ Ole Miss

The struggles continued for the Gators as they managed to walk 13 batters last night. They are 0-7 in SEC play and TBA for starters the rest of the weekend. I do believe Florida’s bats have a good opportunity today. They outhit Ole Miss last night and Mason Nicholls was roughed up against Missouri last weekend. Slight lean to Florida, but very hard to trust this team right now.

Clemson @ Georgia Tech

A top 25 showdown in ATL as Clemson comes to town. Long-time Yellow Jacket HC Danny Hall announced this week that this season will be his last. This will be Clemson’s first ACC road series and 2nd road game of the season. Georgia Tech sits at 7-2 in ACC play, winning series against Va Tech & Pitt while sweeping ND. Both lineup’s can produce lots of offense. I am expecting a pitching duel on Friday between McKee and Knaak with a good amount of runs coming on Saturday and Sunday. This will be a great series. No lean.

Oklahoma @ Alabama

A battle between two very good 4-2 SEC teams this weekend in Tuscaloosa. The Tide will be welcoming in another top 10 opponent. Friday’s matchup between Kyson Witherspoon and Zane Adams will be a great game. Both teams have had some pretty good pop, so it will be interesting to see how these aces navigate these lineups. I believe Oklahoma’s best chance of winning a game will be with Kyson on the mound. Like Alabama to take this series.

Arkansas @ Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt’s pitching will hope to replicate last weekend’s performance against arguably the hottest offense in college baseball. Arkansas dropped a wild midweek game to Missouri State and will be looking to bounce back with another SEC series victory. JD Thompson vs Zach Root will be another great SEC Friday Night showdown. Lean Arkansas, but flip a coin.

Auburn @ Georgia

Completely forgot to write this series up on original release, but we have another elite SEC matchup. Auburn has taken 2/3 in both series from Vandy & @ UK. Georgia is fresh off a sweep @ Florida and also has a series victory over Kentucky. This Georgia offense owns the largest wRC+, iso, & wOBA in the country. Georgia’s starting pitching has struggled, but moving Curley to the Saturday role will help those numbers. Charlie Goldstein has been lit up this season, so Auburn will have a route to runs on Friday. I am not confident in Auburn’s pitching slowing down this Georgia offense. I’ll take the Dawgs to win the series.
