4/2 Recap

Nebraska somehow finds a way to lose that game and ruins the sweep, but will not complain with another positive slate.
Write Ups
LSU @ Oklahoma
The Tigers head to Norman this weekend to take on Oklahoma in a top 10 matchup. LSU is fresh off a sweep against Miss State while OU could not take advantage of Bama’s shorthanded rotation and dropped 2/3 to the Tide. Thursday night will be a must watch game with LSU’s Kade Anderson and OU’s Kyson Witherspoon on the mound. Both pitchers have been lights out for their teams so far this season. I lean LSU, especially in games 2 and 3. Oklahoma is a good team and Kyson will give them a chance in game one, but I just believe they’re outmatched here against the Tigers.
Ole Miss @ Kentucky
Ole Miss heads to Lexington this weekend as a top 10 team in the rankings. After dropping the SEC opening series to Arkansas, the Rebels won 5/6 against Florida and Mizzou to sit at 6-3 in SEC play. Hunter Elliott will get the ball tonight for the Rebs while Kentucky has TBA listed. Ole Miss began their series against Florida on Thursday last week, so their rotation is on normal rest. Nic McCay has been in weekend the entire season, but is not listed in Kentucky’s projected rotation for this series. Both offenses have done a good job of adding run support this season. Ole Miss has recorded double digit hits in 7/9 SEC games while Kentucky has in 6/9. Numbers give me a lean towards Ole Miss, but Kentucky does a good job of going against the odds.. I think I’ll back Elliott with Kentucky not naming a Thursday starter then see where the series goes after that.
Duke @ North Carolina
The Tobacco Road Rivalry is set for this weekend in Chapel Hill. It seems to me that Duke has shaken their early season struggles, as the Devils appear to be red hot heading into this series. Since being swept @ Stanford, Duke has managed to sweep @ Virginia and take 2/3 from NC State. In those games, the Duke offense has averaged over 10 runs a game. It’s surprising, UNC has yet to sweep an ACC opponent. After dropping the first two series to Stanford and Louisville, UNC has taken 2/3 from Boston College and Miami. Jake Knapp has been lights out, owning a 1.63 ERA across 38.2 IP this season. He will start for UNC on Thursday. No lean here as I can see it going either way. I believe Duke has been playing better, but I’m not in a hurry to fade UNC at home.
