• An absolutely brutal loss from Tennessee last night. After holding a lead for most of the game behind an excellent Liam Doyle start, the Vols collapsed in the bottom the 9th. 2 errors from Dean Curley and Nate Snead found barrels. Can Tennessee respond back from that? They did execute well for 8 innings. LSU’s offense was silent for most of the game. Marcus Phillips needs a big start today. LSU used Cowan yesterday but will have Evans to ready today. I am more inclined to a Vols bounce back in game 2 with LSU taking the series in game 3.

Texas A&M @ Texas

Texas leads 1-0

• Even without Jared Spencer, the Texas pitching staff continues to dominate. I thought A&M was going to win it late, but they never came through with the timely hit. Prager & Riojas were both lights out. Texas did use Grubbs and Volantis for 1.2 innings a piece last night so it will be interesting to see how they navigate these next two games. I still believe the Aggies have a chance at winning the next two and stealing the series here.
