Clemson @ Florida State

A top 5 matchup between Clemson and FSU. Florida State sits at 2nd in the ACC standings while Clemson has fallen to 5th after being swept last week. Jamie Arnold vs Aidan Knaak tonight will feature two of the best starters in college baseball. FSU is 20-4 at home this season while Clemson sits at 6-4 on the road. Lean FSU but this could be a huge opportunity for Clemson to jump back towards the top of the standings with 2 series remaining on the schedule.

Auburn @ Tennessee

After dropping 3 of their past 4 series, the Vols will look to get back on track at home this weekend against another top 10 opponent. Similar to Arkansas, I still believe TN is one of the country’s best teams. The SEC schedule can be brutal at some points of the season. The Vols currently sit at 4th (you want a top 4 seed for Hoover) in the conference. It’s unfortunate that they do not get Missouri on the schedule, while Texas, Arkansas, and LSU all received a free sweep. It would be a huge addition for TN if AJ Russell can claim this Sunday starter role for the remainder of the season. Auburn sits at 11-10 in SEC play but has played one of the stronger schedules in the country. They have earned their top ten ranking. Sam Dutton has been great on Fridays. Auburn changed their rotation up this weekend. Cam Tilly will go on Saturday with Cade Fisher not listed in the projected rotation. Auburn will play a good series, but the Vols need this one. TN sweeps.

LSU @ Texas A&M

After winning a big home series against the Vols last weekend, LSU will hope to carry momentum into College Station this weekend. The Tigers bats really woke up on Sunday and carried that momentum into their midweek matchup vs SELA. Derek Curiel is the country’s best freshman and swinging a hot bat. If you haven’t watched him play, I highly recommend. Texas A&M was swept last weekend in Austin; however, I did not think the Aggies played bad. They lost every game by one run and hit the ball hard all weekend. Caden Sorrell’s play has been impressive since his return. He has been a massive spark for this lineup. This series will be good. I lean Aggies here as I feel they are more desperate than LSU. Kade Anderson vs Ryan Prager will be another must watch SEC pitching matchup. This will be a good one.

UCLA @ USC

The two Big Ten’s soCal teams will square off this weekend in a series that will have huge implications on the conference standings. Iowa leads, but UCLA sits at 2nd with a 16-5 B10 record. USC is 14-7 and tied for third with Oregon. USC’s Friday starter, Caden Hunter, has been good his season but has not lasted long in his last two starts. Both lineups rank near the top of the B10 in wRC+.
