Recap

W5: 12-10 (+1.77u)

YTD: 70-47 (+19.91)

No complaints with a positive week. Again, regression is due but we will keep rolling until it hits.

Alabama & Oregon come through on the ML. Nailed the pregame write ups.

Most winners were sweat free. Came up short on a few like UConn -3.5 & Stanford -2. They both won but did not cover. Baylor came close as well. TCU melted at the end of the game on Friday Night. Arkansas was a bad read.

Notes:

Huge win for Kalen DeBoer and Alabama. They have made the needed adjustments since the FSU loss. Despite the one loss on record, Bama sits at third in odds (+750) to win the National Championship and -200 to make the CFB Playoff. Tide are also favorites to win the SEC. Ty Simpson (+900) is now up to second in the Heisman race. The Tide went 13/19 on third down while allowing UGA to go 2/8.

Georgia’s passing game disappeared after showing out on the road against TN. Bama stayed in a lot of zone coverage (TN played man) and the zone worked. Stockton struggled with reads and couldn’t make much happen with his legs. Georgia has some concerns. The blueprint is out. Can they adjust? They are in a good spot to bounce back with UK at home.

Dan Lanning and Oregon come through with a 2OT road victory over Penn State. The Ducks are legit on both sides of the ball. Dante Moore (+750) is now your Heisman favorite and Oregon (+550) falls right behind Ohio State (+500) in National Championship odds. Penn State’s highly profiled defensive line did not record a sack on Saturday Night.

Hard to draw up a better spot for James Franklin to win a big game. Drew Allar found zero success down field, only recording 5.5 Y/A. Penn State remains a favorite at -180 to make the playoff, but they still have to travel to Iowa and Ohio State while hosting Indiana and Nebraska.

Ohio State’s defense may be generational. Very fast. Matt Patricia has came in & done a great job.

Kiffin has the Rebs rolling. You have to feel pretty good during the bye week after 4-0 over UK, Arkansas, Tulane, and LSU this early into the season. Trinidad Chambliss became the first SEC player with 300 passing yards and 50 rushing yards in three consecutive games in the past 30 years.

In the pregame write up, I mentioned that LSU would have to find success running the ball against an OM defense that has struggled to stop teams on the ground. Well, they failed to establish the run once again. LSU has got to find answers on offense during this bye week. If not, the upcoming schedule is a concern. The market has LSU priced at +170 to make the playoff. Nuss has fallen completely out of the Heisman race with 15 players ahead of him at +3000.
