Good morning, welcome to Day 4!

We finished with a +1.28u profit yesterday, which puts us at +4.71u in Omaha. An Ole Miss win would have made it a sweep, but the bullpen choked again. Credit to Troy. Their bats are red hot.

Alabama vs Texas

  • Alabama will try to regroup after a 9-0 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday. The Tide were stumped by OU freshman, Cord Rager. Rager produced 7 innings of shutout ball with 8 strikeouts and zero walks. Alabama only managed 3 hits and now will have to face perhaps the best pitching staff in the country. The lineup only has two guys hitting over .290. For comparisons, Texas has 5. Alabama has 4 guys below a 95 wRC+. Texas has 1. Alabama will turn to Zane Adams on the mound. Adams has produced a 3.96 ERA, 3.17 SIERA, and a 4.73 xFIP. Adams will allow hits and traffic on the bases however, he does a very good job working out of jams and limiting damage. Adams has had two starts this postseason: USC Upstate and St John’s. In 3 of his last 4 SEC matchups, Adams allowed 5 earned runs. Texas will roll out 6 RHB against Adams today, all which own a wRC+ over 100.
  • Texas will attempt to make their way out of the loser’s bracket after a disappointing showing against Georgia. Joey Volchko had their number as he struck out 15 in a complete game effort. Ruger Riojas will get the ball for Texas. Riojas owns a 4.04 ERA, 1.66 SIERA, 3.67 xFIP, and 13.4 K/9. In his last start against Oregon, Riojas managed to throw 111 pitches. In his previous 4 starts, he was managed below 80 pitches. Volantis went deep against Georgia, so Texas will have their bullpen options on the table. Sam Cozart will likely throw at some point. The Texas lineup had been swinging it well before running into Volchko. With the wind blowing out against a LHP that is prone to contact, I believe this is a good spot for them to bounce back.
  • I believe Texas makes their way out of the loser’s bracket to set up a rematch with Georgia. The Longhorns will need to clean it up defensively after making 3 critical errors on Saturday. Alabama’s lineup looked lost against OU. Texas should be able to hit Adams and the Bama bullpen. Give me the Longhorns. The wind will be blowing out at 7-10 mph. I will be adding Alabama TT u4.5 and Texas alternate run lines. I wouldn’t hate the idea of simply playing the juice on Texas -230. 9-3 Horns.

My Bets:

To win 2u: Texas + Georgia +115 CZR

1u: Texas -1.5 -108 FD

0.5u: Alabama TT u4.5 -125 DK

0.5u: Texas to score first and win +110 DK

Oklahoma vs Georgia

  • Oklahoma heads into this Georgia matchup as one of the hottest team in the country. The Sooners steamrolled Alabama in game one. Xander Mercurius will get the ball tonight. The freshman owns a 5.82 ERA, 5.58 xFIP, and a 3.63 SIERA with a 4.2 BB/9. However, he has pitched his best performances this postseason. He held Georgia Tech’s powerful lineup in check for 5.2 innings and followed it up with 4 innings of one run ball against Kansas. He will likely not make it deep into this game. However, Oklahoma has their full bullpen available after getting 7 innings from Rager against Bama and it is one of the best in college baseball. The Sooner bats have been leading the charge this postseason. Deiten Lachance, Dayton Tockey, and Trey Gambill have been seeing it well.
  • Georgia heads into the 1-0 game after taking down Dylan Volantis on Saturday night. Texas made a few costly errors and Georgia took full advantage of their mistakes. Georgia only collected 5 hits against Texas with Lujo and Ishikawa having 2 a piece. However, I believe this starting pitching matchup will be much friendlier to the best lineup in the country. Every bat in Georgia’s lineup has a wRC+ above 112. They have a team wRC+ of 128. Caden Aoki will get the ball tonight. Aoki owns a 4.04 ERA, 2.59 SIERA, 4.40 xFIP and a 12.0 K/9. The USC transfer has really been a huge addition to this Georgia pitching staff. Similar to Oklahoma, Georgia will have their full bullpen available after Joey Volchko pitched a complete game on Saturday.
  • This is a great matchup between two of the best offenses in the country. Oklahoma is red hot and Georgia has been red hot all season. This is a tough task for a freshman arm to step up like Oklahoma is asking. I like the Dawgs here. I have said for a while now that I just feel like this is their year. I leaned the over as well, but both teams have the full bullpen ready to go. The game will start with wind blowing out, but shift to cross wind later in the game. 8-4 UGA.

My bets:

To win 2u: Georgia + Texas MLP +115 CZR (listed above)

1u: Georgia -2.5 -110 CZR

0.5u: Georgia / Georgia F5 / ML -130 DK
