What is a better way to end the season than a winner-take-all game three?

North Carolina is looking to win its 1st college baseball national title ever.

Oklahoma is looking for its first college baseball national title since 1994.

Since I have completed a write up on both of these teams the last two games, I will make this one short.

UNC will start freshman Jackson Rose. Rose has yet to allow a run in 12 innings pitched throughout the NCAA tournament. He owns a 2.15 ERA on the season. When you dig deeper, you will find he has a 5.68 xFIP, 4.13 SIERA, 8.2 K/9 and 4.3 BB/9. In his postseason run, he has not faced an offense that is as good as Oklahoma’s. After Rose, UNC will roll out experienced relievers in Walker McDuffie and Matthew Mattijs. If the game is close towards the end, look for standout freshman Caden Glauber to step back on the mound one day after throwing 65 pitches across 5 innings. Folger Boaz may see action, but likely in a L/L scenario or if Rose has troubles early.

Oklahoma will start freshman, Nick Wesloski. Wesloski is coming off of his two best starts of the season. In Regionals he stepped up to deliver 7 innings in an elimination game against the Citadel. He then managed to continue success against Georgia last Wednesday. After Wesloski, Oklahoma will have LJ Mercurius and Jackson Cleveland available. Mercurius delivered 1.2 innings of shutout ball against UNC in Saturday’s game one win.

I am playing Oklahoma here. I have this priced at a pick’em so I like getting value on +120. Regardless of my UNC future ticket, I believe the Sooners are a good play. I also like the under. In Supers and Regionals, we saw the majority of games go under in these winner-take-all games. Teams will throw the kitchen sink when everything is on the line and I like the availability both teams have in their bullpen. In Omaha, every night game has gone under its total. Both teams have done a great job of scoring early. However, I will play a small amount on NRFI with the shadows that appear at Charles Schwab Field.

My Bets:

Oklahoma +120 CZR

Oklahoma / UNC u10 -110 DK

0.5u: NRFI -105
